Baked Mac and cheese

Ingredients: For Filling
  • 1/2 tbs (7 ml) Vegetable Oil
  • 500 g Minced Meat
  • 1 small (50 g) Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp (4-5 g) dried Oregano
  • ¼ cup (65 ml) Hot Water
  • 1 cube MAGGI Chicken Stock

For Cheese Sauce:
  • 1 tbs (20 g) Butter
  • 2 cups (500 ml) cooking Cream
  • ¼ cup (65 ml) Hot Water
  • 1 cube MAGGI Chicken Stock
  • 1 ½ cup (250 g) Yellow Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1 box (300 g) Elbow Macaroni Pasta
  • ½ cup (125 ml) Tomato Ketchup
  • 4-5 whole (100 g) Dill Pickles, chopped
  • 1/3 cup (50 g) Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1 tbs (5 g) Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbs (15 g) Sesame Seeds

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees C and place oven rack to middle position.
  • To make Filling: Heat Oil in a frying pan and sauté Minced Meat until half cooked. Add Onions and cook until onions are soft.
  • Add Oregano, Hot Water and MAGGI Chicken Stock and allow to simmer until liquid is absorbed.
  • To make Cheese Sauce: In a large saucepan, melt Butter, add Cooking Cream, Hot Water MAGGI Chicken Stock and Cheddar Cheese and stir on medium heat until cheese is dissolved. Taking care not to overheat the cream.
  • Add Pasta to the pot and allow to cook halfway.
  • Pour half the Pasta and sauce mixture into a baking dish, spread Ketchup over the top, layer the cooked meat and Onion mixture followed by Pickles and Cheddar cheese. Pour the remaining pasta and cheese sauce mixture top. Sprinkle Breadcrumbs and Sesame Seeds over.
  • Serve warm with a side of chili sauce.
